My name is Robin Hunt, and I have taught for 12 years, 10 of those years have been in Kotlik, Alaska. My students in this website are Yup'ik Eskimo, who speak Village English as their first language. I strive to meet the needs of my students by teaching using best practices based on research and through knowing my students and the community. I draw upon community knowledge and involvement in a culturally relevant way that enhances educational rigor by drawing on participation styles of the culture. This year I stepped out of the classroom to complete my masters in CALL ANE Applied Linguistics where I have been studying language revitalization of Native languages in Alaska and around the world. As you explore this site I have developed, I invite you into a world of learning through culture.
